Friends Along the Way
It’s been 6 years since I got myself into the events or entertainment industry. Along the way, you meet a lot of interesting people. They come in all shapes and characters. Some can be distracting, some may lift you, some may be generous, and some can be aggressive. However, that’s not what got me thinking. What got me thinking was what my friend Esther from Johore posted on Facebook recently as shown below.
I felt that the post was so profound that I just had to write something about it. I had the privilege to meet all walks of life as an emcee/host. You meet CEOs, Founders, businessmen, technicians, purchasers, wedding planners, sound crew, setup crew, event organizers and the list go on and on and on. However, not all relationships end up close. Some may turn out to be your worst nightmare.
But in every relationship, I believe that it has helped me to become a better man. It was a choice whether I wanted to allow it to affect me positively or negatively. Hence, I decided that I would not blame anyone for my circumstances. I believed was my responsibility to make sure that I was not affected in any way. It didn’t happen over time. It took time and a conscious decision to ensure that I looked it in a positive light.
Whether the outcome of the relationship is due to your mistakes or the other parties' mistakes, the idea of the positive mindset is not to think that I was always at the right side of things but to continuously grow, better myself and look ahead for a brighter and future. Learning from your past or in this case past relationship is always good. What you did in the past affect your present, your present affects your future. That’s another topic for another day.
That is why currently, I’m able to emcee/host various types of events ranging from sports, dinners, launching, weddings, family days, awards’ night, etc. All these relationships were turned to positive energy to feed my future and to ensure a prosperous career.
